A Demure, young maiden dressed in a pale orange ghagra or skirt with a typical
Rajasthani design motif, and light blue blouse enchants the beautiful peacocks
and peahens in a lush green forest. So entrancing is her music that one of the
peacocks begins to dance, his glorious tail spread out in a huge fan. Crushed
gemstones lend an ethereal glow to this elegant painting on acrylic, which forms
the centrepiece of a desk diary bound in navy blue textured, handmade paper.
The colors radiate with the brilliance of gemstones, which are finely ground
almost to powder. A special resin is used to bind the powdered gemstones into
a paint. The artist first sketches the subject of his inspiration on a sheet
of acrylic. Then he fills the colors made from gemstones to create a painting
that emanates a soft yet rich glow.
