Krishna's dance of triumph. It represents a victory over the Dark Side. When the playful and daring Krishna dived into the river to retrieve a ball thrown by his mischievous friends, he found it in the coils of Kaliyanag. He arose from the river on the head of Kaliyanag to the delight of his friends. In this beautiful tussar silk painting by master painters from Orissa, Krishna is shown dancing on the head of Kaliyanag - the seven-headed Serpent King. Pleading for Kaliyanag's life are Nagkanyas or snake maidens. Only vegetable dyes and colors have been used to add brightness and luster to this painting on Tussar silk.
How to Display: This painting can be displayed in a protective glass (preferably non-reflecting glass) frame with a plain or ornamental border. This will help preserve the richness and lustre of its colors. You can also display it like any wall-hanging (unframed). Make sure that the painting does not get direct sunlight.
Maintenance Tips: If displayed unframed, do not hang the painting on a damp wall. Keep it clear of dirt and dust by cleaning it with a soft dry cloth or a soft brush. If the painting is being framed, then make sure the frame is air-tight.
