This highly decorative and richly carved brass statuette of Ganesha shows him seated on the rajkamal or king lotus which is resting on an ornamental pedestal. A ceremonial arch above the head of Ganesha is symbolic of a temple. The two tiny bells at either end of the arch produce an auspicious tinkling sound when struck. A special lacquer coating protects it from tarnishing.
