David and Jim are U.S.NAVY crewmembers on a ship that has been modified by naval experts as part of a project known as The Philadelphia experiment. The ship disappears from the radar screen and the crew experiences a hellish transaction, some 40 years into the future. The mastermind behind the project is still experimenting after all these years, and when he discovers that David has survived, he sees him as the salvation of a project that has crossed time and dimension to create a deadly vortex.
